I had a day of errands today, which might have been more fun had it not been well over 100 degrees with the heat index! Yuck!
But, while I was out, I took note of of quilts and quilty things out in the world!
First thing I noticed was a strange fabrics in the drapery section, that looked quilted, though it wasn't:
Next, being I was sucking down iced tea to banish the heat, there was a pit stop in the ladies room. I discovered that the tissue paper even appeared quilted:
Yes, I am the crazy person in bathrooms taking pictures. It's okay, I only capture things, not people!
Then of course I took a few minutes to see what was going on in the bedding aisle at one of the stores...seems that solid quilts are all the rage, check it out! (At least the store bought quilts' stitching is getting smaller than a quarter to a half an inch long!)
Where have you seen quilted items, or quilted looking items out in the world?
It brings to home just how much textures plays a role in fiber work. And adding those stitches creates a depth and a design to a piece. Next time your out, take a closer looks at the items in your surroundings! It's amazing where you will see quilt inspired textures!
***Don't forget, you only have until tomorrow morning to pop into the post Free Fabric Drawing and leave a comment for a chance to win!
You will have to check out my own post later this morning! I had the same sort of experience last weekend. Fascinating how you start seeing patterns in everything.
