Fall has come to Minnesota in a big way it's cold, leaves are changing and we've had a flurry or two of snow already. The biggest indicator though, is my studio music has a lot of Christmas songs going and I watched "White Christmas" yesterday. I'm eagerly waiting the first "real" snow fall. (Shush.)
I'm in an extremely good mood at the moment. This August we had a pretty bad hail storm and our home suffered some pretty hefty roof, siding, paint and window frame damage. I just won a pretty big battle in getting the insurance company to agree to a full roof replacement in an appeals process. (Moral of the story is once again, never give up!)
I recently completed a quilt that is probably the one I am most proud of. It's slightly larger than a fat quarter, but has more than 30 hours of quilting in it. That's on top of the 10-15 hours of painting time. Bad news? I can't show it to you right now. Good news? I can't show it because it might be published. Fingers crossed people that all goes well with that!
This is the piece I did during my lesson with Karen McTavish - Completely finished! |

Of course, Christmas is a short sixty-two days away which means some of my time is also being devoted to making gifts!
I'm not sure what is going to be happening with quilting in the next couple of months anyways. I had an MRI this morning on my knee, and I'm waiting for the results on whether I will be having surgery for a meniscus tear. Unfortunately it's my right knee, which is my dominant. I'm already trying to learn to use my left foot for the machine pedal. We'll see how it goes.
Hi, Steph ~ I love that you're so upbeat, even momentarily. Sounds like you're getting things to go your way, and I LOVE the quilting pieces you featured. Good thoughts and prayers are with you for a "simple" solution to the meniscus tear and your complete recovery. Lotsa love and BIG OL' HUGS ~ EL
